Buddha’s Enlightenment Day: Daylong Meditation Retreat in Urbana

  • Urbana-Champaign Friends Meeting 1904 E Main St Urbana, IL 61802 United States (map)

This daylong silent meditation retreat is for beginning and experienced meditators. On this Saturday in December we will celebrate Buddha’s Enlightenment Day (Rohatsu), which is celebrated on December 8th around the world, with stories and a special ceremony at the end of the day.

Join Zenshin Florence Caplow, Zen teacher, at the lovely Urbana-Champaign Friends Meeting House in East Urbana, for sitting meditation, outdoor walking meditation (weather permitting), meditation instruction, and a dharma talk. There will be a silent bring-your-own lunch. You can bring your own meditation cushion or bench, or use the chairs at the Meeting House. The retreat is by donation.

If you have questions, email Florence at caplow@cloudway.live. Registration at the link below. Once you are registered, you will receive an email with more details about the retreat.

There is an option in the registration form to attend for the morning only. If that is your plan, be sure to check the box in the registration form.

REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 10 PM FRIDAY NIGHT.
